The Los Angeles Fine Artists Network (LA FAN) is a collective of local female artists. LA FAN members meet on a monthly basis to pursue new avenues of artistic expression and explore opportunities for showing their work.

LA FAN's Joan Charles featured at Hive Gallery


For the month of April, LA FAN member Joan Charles is a featured artist in the 6 Year Anniversary show at downtown LA's Hive Gallery.

The opening reception is Saturday, April 2 from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. A party with live music, art and mingling, admission is $8. If you can't make it to the opening, be sure to stop by the Hive sometime this month to view some of Joan's wonderful paintings.

Eve in the Garden of Lost Angels Opens with A Crunch!

The opening reception for LA FAN's debut show at Optical Allusion Gallery on Saturday, May 15 was filled with temptations - in the form of art and fruit. Our show offered a diverse and compelling range of interpretations of the theme, Eve in the Garden of Lost Angels. We had a great turnout and everyone had a lot of fun celebrating and mingling.

The gallery was a perfect venue for our overflow crowd, with a private courtyard in back where we had a DJ, bar, a spread of tasty hors d'oeuvres - and everywhere - tempting displays of crunchy red delicious apples, echoing our theme.

Thanks to Milla Zeltzer, our wonderful curator, Richard McDowell, Carl Ramsey and Michael Tighe of Optical Allusion Gallery, and all the artist members of LA FAN who contributed.

LA FAN Debuts Group Show - Eve in the Garden of Lost Angels



LA FAN presents its debut group show, Eve in the Garden of Lost Angels, curated by Milla Zeltzer, at Optical Allusion Gallery, downtown Los Angeles, from May 15 to June 12, 2010. The opening reception is Saturday, May 15 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The theme, Eve in the Garden of Lost Angels, is intended as a common point of departure for a range of media and expression from an underlying female perspective.

LA FAN was started by visual artist Belgin Kaya Wedman in 2009. The group is an emerging collective of Los Angeles-based female artists from different backgrounds with a shared goal of exploring new territory through visual art.

Optical Allusion Gallery opened in April, 2010. The gallery is located at 2414 West 7th Street, Los Angeles, 90057, across from MacArthur Park: Map
